A lot of new players do not know that they can change regions (starting zones) when they start playing. This is important to know when you want to join an alliance region or in a region where your friend is located. When it comes to changing a server with an existing account, that is not possible. It’s only possible by creating a new account.
How to Change Region
Changing regions in Age of Empires is extremely simple, but you have to do some requirements before you change regions. The first requirement is that you have to complete at least chapter 7 in the quests. That can be completed extremely fast in a few hours.
The second one is that you must be without an alliance. When you are in an alliance, the game will not allow you to change regions if that alliance is not in the region where you want to relocate. The third one is that all your troops must be in the city. Not a single one can be outside farming or fighting.
Once you have all the requirements, zoom out and zoom in to the targeted region and find a good location to teleport. Once you find a location, simply hold the right click on the spot where you want to teleport. After a few seconds, the teleport button will pop up. Simply confirm teleportation, that is.
You can go to your inventory and click on relocator, but that is inefficient because you have to drag your city across the map and may not teleport in the region you wanted.
Migration in Age of Empires Mobile
Migration in Age of Empires Mobile is possible during the Empire Migration event. During this event, you will be able to migrate your city to a different server using migration passes. The amount of migration passes that you need depends on your power. The higher the power, the more passes you need. Down below you will find a close estimate of how many passes you will need to migrate.
- 0 – 5M → 1-2 passes
- 5M – 25M → 8 passes
- 26M – 45M → 16 passes
- 46M – 55M → 24 passes
- 56M – 60M → 28 passes
- 61M – 65M → 34 passes
- 66M – 72M → 42 passes
- 73M – 80M → 48 passes
- 81M+ → 54+ passes
What is crucial to know when it comes to the Empire Migration event is that lowering power or deleting troops will not affect your cost. Same goes for increasing your power. The game will remember your power when the Empire Migration started.
How to Get Migration Passes
Getting migration passes in Age of Empires Mobile is similar to other mobile games. You have free options and paid options.
- 3 Free Migration Passes: You will get 3 free migration passes when the migration event starts.
- 2 Passes for 5000 Empire Coins: You will be able to purchase 2 migration passes for 5000 Empire Coins, which is not that high a price.
- In-Game Shop: During the event, there will be various packs and bundles containing migration passes that you can purchase.
If you are a higher power player, you will have to skip a few Empire Migration events so you can collect free passes. Just make sure that you do not forget to purchase 2 migration passes for Empire Coins.
When it comes to purchasing passes in the game shop, it depends on you. Developers gave a huge discount for passes: $1 = 1 migration pass, which is much cheaper compared to other games. Now, we do not recommend spending money on mobile games, but if you really love Age of Empires Mobile and you are playing on a dead kingdom, then you should consider purchasing a few migration passes.
